Entry requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in:

  • Geological Sciences;
  • Earth Sciences;
  • Natural Sciences.

At least 33 ECTS or an equivalent number of hours in courses related to Geological Sciences are required. A strong technical background is necessary and will be assessed through the provided documentation (degree certificate and transcript/diploma supplement). The background must cover the following subjects:

  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Terrestrial Physics
  • Geomorphology
  • Structural Geology
  • Stratigraphy and Sedimentology
  • Paleontology
  • Mineralogy and Petrology
  • Cartography

 

Non-EU candidates interested in this curriculum must demonstrate a B2 level of proficiency in Italian or an equivalent certification. Those applying for a degree program taught entirely in Italian are required to prove their language skills by passing an Italian language test.

The test will be organized by CISIA, in collaboration with the University of Pavia. For information on dates and registration procedures, please refer to the website on this page.
Students holding an Italian language certification at a B2 level or higher (such as CILS, CELI, Roma3, or PLIDA) are exempt from this requirement.

During the interview, candidates’ English proficiency will also be assessed. All candidates are expected to have a B2 level or equivalent, but an official certification is not required, as the evaluation will be conducted during the interview.

Students who are interested in enrolling on this curriculum must have an English language proficiency level of B2 or higher.

Students can present one of the following documents:

    • LCCI EfB Level 3
  • Declaration of the Medium of Instruction: candidates graduated in Universities located in countries different from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, USA, or UK can present an official declaration that the course that they attended was fully taught in the English language. The Declaration must have been produced by the University or Course.

In absence of any certificates, the level of the English language will be evaluated by the Admission Committee during the admission interview.
